Device Intelligencevendor landscape.

Device intelligence providers use device, network, and session signals to help teams understand the context around a digital interaction.

How the risk develops

How device-enabled fraud happens

Device-related fraud happens when an attacker hides, repeats, or manipulates the digital environment used to create an account, access one, or move money.

  1. 01

    The attacker prepares an environment

They may use an emulator, virtual machine, remote browser, anti-detect tooling, residential proxy, or a compromised device to separate activity from their real identity.

  2. 02

    Signals are rotated or disguised

IP addresses, browser attributes, device identifiers, geolocation, and session characteristics are changed or made to look like ordinary customer activity.

  3. 03

The same infrastructure touches many journeys

A device or network may appear across new-account applications, login attempts, payment events, and recovery flows under different names or accounts.

  4. 04

    Fraud scales faster than review

Automated account creation, credential testing, or payment attempts can generate losses before isolated device events are joined into a recognizable risk pattern.

Evaluation guide

Questions to take into your own review.

Use the public directory as a starting point, then verify current facts, fit, and obligations with each provider and your internal stakeholders.

  1. 01

Map the device, network, browser, and session signals to the decisions your existing risk controls need to make.

  2. 02

Understand how shared devices, privacy tools, mobile app changes, and legitimate travel affect signal quality.

  3. 03

Clarify how device intelligence can be joined to identity, account, payment, and case-management systems.

  4. 04

Validate latency, regional coverage, explainability, and the provider's approach to retention and access controls.
